We’ve tweaked how we display them slightly so where we have the information from the job listing, you’ll see one of the following:

  • 🛂 Visa required

  • 🛂 Visa required - ❌ sponsorship not available

  • 🛂 Visa required - ✅ sponsorship available

Where you see 🛂 Visa required on it’s own (without a sponsorship status) that means they specify a local visa is required, but they are not specific about whether they will sponsor or not.

If there’s nothing there at all (i.e. you don’t see the 🛂 symbol), that doesn’t guarantee that no visa is required at all. Sometimes companies just don’t mention visa requirements in the job listing.

It’s especially complex with remote jobs and global payroll solutions, but rest assured we’re constantly fine tuning this process to make the information we share as helpful and accurate as possible in your remote job search.
